Guidelines

The Commission is authorized to prepare and distribute guidelines to assist the public in understanding and applying The Human Rights Code. The guidelines set out the Commission’s interpretation of the protections in The Human Rights Code and are based on general legal principles and decisions of courts and tribunals.

These guidelines are intended to provide you with practical guidance about the rights and responsibilities in The Human Rights Code.
